The merit is really basic and tbh the ls isn't that much better!

the gls and ls have power steering and central locking but the gls also has electric windows but higher insurance group!

Really the best thing you can do is get a lower spec one, keep some money and get it done up a bit! Body wise you could put colour coded Corsa bumpers on (or gsi bumpers) as genuine Vauxhall parts don't count as a modification!! (same with other makes!) same with alloys so instantly you can make one look better without insurance going sky high!

So basically, for a basic one you're looking at anywhere from Ј300 to Ј500ish for a basic one and then Ј500 up for one like the gls

Hope this helps!

in reply to your message i read , does this mean because my fiesta is modified with ford parts and ford optional body kits , that this doenst need to be declared to the insurance ? Very Happy

From experience (families and friends!!) insurance companies aren't bothered about manufactures parts for example you could use xr2i bumpers on another mk3 fiesta and they wouldn't mind. I've also rung at least 3 companies before now when getting quotes to double check this and they've said the same thing

thats not bad then , as my car is of course declared as "modified " and all legally declared Wink Razz Laughing

i have optional RS ford kit , and i always thought optional body kits have to be put down as a modification if optionally added from brand new ?

even though i fitted it as a mod and not an optional extra from new?

interesting question.
