Well jumping ahead slightly, will get the other updates up soon, one of my handles is now sprayed!
Had a spare set of 4 handles in the garage so got them out and sanded down as standard handles have a texture, used the electric sander till they were completely smooth and then 1 layer of primer, sanded lightly, 1 layer of paint, sanded lightly, one layer of lacquer.... sorted!
